Other Expectations
- We will be using Pearson Realize self paced math for 8th grade. Students will be working at their own pace with specific deadline sates for complettions of practice, lesson quizzes and other assessments.
- Practice work is assigned to be meaningful and is expected to be completed on time.
- Most times, the student will have an opportunity to start in class.
- All assignments will contain the following components: Name, Date, Period, Assignment Title or Page and Problem numbers and one inch margins.
- Therefore if the student works productively, there may be occasions that the student does not bring home practice work. In addition to this, no late work will be accepted unless the student has an excuse absence whereas the Wareham Middle School handbook policy on missed work will be followed.
In addition, as a school that has adopted the Common Core State Standards, the Mathematics | Standards
for Mathematical Practice is an important part to a students success. For example, #5 Use appropriate tools strategically - Mathematically proficient students consider the available tools when solving a mathematical problem. These tools might include pencil and paper, concrete models, a ruler, a protractor, a calculator, a spreadsheet, a computer algebra system, a statistical package, or dynamic geometry software.
